We had a very mild winter without much snow or really cold temperatures. This is the first time I saw this lily bloom. I planted it a couple years ago. It only blooms in July and August. Most of my lilies are eaten by deer, before I see their blossoms, but they don;t eat the daylilies.

I was looking through a bulb catalogue last night and was interested to see that the particular nursery was selling bulbs for tulips, lilies and narcissus which were labelled "deerproof" lol....I suppose the short bloom period for the daylily might have something to do with the length of the Minnesota summer? I lived quite far north in Ontario at one point in my life and many plants bloomed only in August, and that was it until the next year.

Hi Talljim, nice to see you again! How did you fare last winter? was your winter as strange as ours was? Really exotic looking daylily... Is this one everblooming ..or just for July and August?
