cut the lemons almost into four parts (not completely though, make an incision, but still keep them in one piece), then add salt and some water, no need to cover them completely.

Yes, I would! Yummy.
These pickled lemons are preserved partly in salt though.

Yes I realised after I said lemon cake that these are pickled, still tasty though but not in the cake !!!! I will e.mail it to you.
