Baby Mandevilla

Look at the new shoots in the little pot. A new mandevilla plant for next spring. (cut a shoot and put it in the pot a month ago) It's wonderful when you make something new!!!

This Mandevillea won't survive outdoors in winter there?

Very few plants don't survive our winters....This is my first Mandevilla so we shall see. ..One of the reasons I made a new one which will be indoors all winter.

Alexandramou:

As long as you don't have freezing temps it should live through winter.

no, no freezing temps. not very often at least, besides it's under one of my balconies. But then again we learn by trial and error....I'll let you know what happens. At least I will have my back up plant indoors.

Alexandramou:

Do you have warm or mild temps during the daytime in winter? These plants like daytime temps of at least 65 degrees F/ 18 degrees C.

Oh, it gets down to 16 C sometimes. It might drop to 13 C maybe three times all winter and that's with the north wind. The weather has been changing so much recently, you don't know what to expect. I remember a winter four years ago that we didn't wear coats!!! Now that was nice, but not normal for here.
