Oh to grow a yellow one...got Moorheim B and Bruno, but the yellows get eaten by slugs or just struggle and die on me!

I protect all my heleniums with copper rings to keep the slugs off - pretty effective. I bought a load of the rings from greengardener.co.uk.
Try helenium pumilum 'Magnificum' - it's shorter than the others but a really strong plant - mine started flowering in June and is still going strong!
