Hi Oliveoil....How are you...Yes the Lobelia is healthy, and is the best this year....We've had HOT HOT weather until Tuesday, then we had a shower in the night, and rain all day yesterday, which was very welcome, it was steady rain so did no damage, but did a world of good to the Garden as a whole, and also cooled us down too....How is your Garden faring, have you made any more adjustments....I haven't been on for a while, so have a lot of catch up to do....Have been away, and also had visitors....and we're going away again later this month....Last trip....then more visitors....when we come back.. phew

Not a lot been going on in my garden, apart from tidying up and watering because we have had very little rain - some places around us have had lots or the wet stuff but our little area is not getting the much needed water. . Hosepipe out yet again this weekend. You sound very busy hope you are finding time to sit and relax in your garden sometimes, happy holidays Crissue and happy gardening - Barbara (Oliveoil)

Morning barbara, Happy Sunday to you....Yes we're getting our share of much needed Rain , at night mainly thank goodness....Yes I always make time to sit and have my tea or coffee, just enjoying the garden for a little while each day....Then a little wander, to say say hello to my girls, and give them their morning treats, and check for eggs....We're going to get two more laying hens next week, as there isn't quite enough eggs coming, two have gone through heavy moults, and what eggs are laid, our little Bantom, has decided she wants to sit on, so its a bit hit and miss at the moment....So I'm giving plenty of Vits in their water, and slowly they are doing ok again....Also one of our Cats Snoball; has a raw beaten egg in a little milk each morning always has, I wonder if any one else who has Cats....likes an egg...
Thankyou to everyone who liked the Lobelia....

Happy egg hunting crissue, I lost my last Lavender Pekin last week, to old age, only got my black ones (three) and a white cockrel at moment, some more babies being carefully looked after (just off heat) and some kind person gave me some Light Sussex crossed with Rhodesian Reds (I think) babies still but will soon be able to go with my others. Very pretty chicks, have reared some for a friend (Pekin babies) she wants a trio for her back garden.
They are very light and fluffy, small chickens, and if anyone likes chickens in their garden these kind are the best they are so light and gentle, I only shut mine in their own pen because the foxes are rampant around here (in the wood) and kill them and I hate to see that. So decided to keep them in their own enclosure, they have a run fenced in for the day time and are shut up at night. Good for eating the slugs and snails without doing too much damage to plants, so good for pest control. Well worth their weight in corn.

Hi Barbara....I too have the girls in their own enclosure....for their own safety....and they are shut in at night....tho they can open their hatch from their side in the morning....I have one chicken that regularly comes out, but I generally let all the girls roam in the day during the winter months, when they can't do any damage....and nothing gets wasted in our house, all scraps go to the girls, and I can't think of anything they dont like.....Yes they are worth their weight in corn.....
