I have no idea. I saw it, liked it, took a cutting and now it's growing in my border. I do that a lot....walk around, see something I like and take a cutting.

You're welcome! : > )
I just pulled out of bunch which was growing in potted plant. I think the birds put the seeds in my potted plant. This plant is so common here most of the time we just take them for granted.

I must admit...I'd love to come to Greece to visit! Maybe one day.

Well I hope all of our dreams come true one day. I met a couple from Canada today. I've met a lot of people from all over the U.S. this year. Must be the year for Corfu... The way of life here is so different from the U.S. So hope you get to visit Greece one day.

So lovely. I'm growing the variegated one, could swear my tag had Dorotheanthus but on quick search it is definitiely this Aptenia cordifolia. Wonder if its one of those either/or situations.

GT:
Dorotheanthus hybrids grows wild everywhere in CA. It looks similar but has larger flowers. I have red, orange, pink and yellow varieties in my front yard.
They are the easiest and very drought tolerant plants to grow.
