These are our three new girls, lovely and healthy at 20 weeks, and not long before they will be ready to lay....they are Reds, but all slightly different, and very calm....I think they're georgeous, and I spent a lot of twoing and froing yesterday making sure they were ok, and settling in alright.....

Hi Cinderella....we haven't met before....Thanks for your comments....My Hubs says, they will be fine....but I suppose I feel like mother hen (smile)....and also the resident chickens can be quite spiteful in the pecking order routine.....

Hi Crissue, nice to meet you too. Its years since I had anything to do with chicken, though funnily enough I am looking after some this week while my friends are away. They are quite friendly and have the run of the garden, so I am getting some lovely eggs this week. But I know what you mean about being spiteful, as one of these is being ostracised by the others. Shame really.

Hi everyone.....Just an update on the new girls....they have settled well, and have now started to lay, eggs small at the moment, but rich in colour, and good to the taste....have started to cook up a mash, (potatoes greens, and any left overs from the table) each day now....and the good news is there's no fighting or bossing anymore, and they are so friendly to me, almost knock me over in their haste to be first for a bit of petting....:>)

For Resi... These are our youngest chooks...it would have taken me ages to find this if Drc hadn't turned up one of my older pics...
