Thank you homebird. They have! They wafted sweet perfume all summer. Sadly they developed a leaf problem and I couldn't save them. The ones in the back garden are fine. it was sad as I'd grown them from seed :(

I'm now growing a climbing Hydrangea (anomala subsp. petiolaris) which is a vigorous, hardy shrub. I'm going to train it up the bannister. In summer it produces creamy white flowers which will be beautiful to look out at.
