Diplarrhena Latifolia

It's a truly stunning flower Homebird. It has also put on so much new growth since I got it.

I just love the mauve and yellow centre

Goes well with the near ice white of the petals!

Spritz - it's a new one on me this year. Originates from Tasmania, so may have an element of hardiness about it, but just to be on the safe side it'll go into a coldframe for the winter.

Spritzhenry - I'm sure that you'll find one in Andrewr's garden. He'll know more than me!!

It gets two stars in the RHS book, meaning not reliably hardy, so you are definitely doing the right thing over the cold months.

I lost so many of the perennial Lobelias over the last winter that I'm erring on the side of caution with a lot of things now!

My L. siphilitica (sp?) has not reappeared. I'm sad about that! :-((

I liked it so much, I'm hoping to find another one...you never know.

We're off to the Eden Project next week, and I'm thinking of making a detour via Burncoose if they have any left. They should overwinter in a coldframe ok.
