Small late bloom since it was shipped up bare root in the spring. It is settling down nicely and forming great new buds for a good show next year. May give it a fleece wrap to protect for this first winter.

Thanks. I grew up with purple lilacs, and had to have one now myself. I hope to get good real size blooms next year.

They sure do get through a freeze with ease, don't they? I grew up with a long tall hedge of them across the back yard. Always loved a big group. This one is center of the yard to be the center show through early summer. Just cool enough here, I might get a really great performance. A grove would be wonderful. :-)
