It's one plant that if you buy one plant you'll have it for the rest of your life... it self seeds very efficiently... I haven't had to plant it for about nine years...it just comes up where it likes and if I have space I leave it, if not I don't feel guilty about weeding it out. lol. Wonderful tea ingredient.

it's very easy to grow Calz...just buy a packet of seeds and you'll have it forever. While the plant is growing you will smell the lovely sweet haylike smell from it's leaves...but the tea is made from the dried flower heads...
It's blossom is like a little daisy and it smells very sweet...if you pinch back the young plant it will branch readily and produce numerous flowers. When the petals drop you can snip the flower heads individually and let them dry on a piece of paper towel...or if you are growing a huge crop you may pull the whole plant, shake the soil from the roots and hang in upside down (bunch the plants with a twist tie) outside in a dry, well ventilated spot...the plants will dry in about 5-7 days...you can also hang them in your kitchen if it's not too moist...
to make tea: remove the flowerheads... place them in an infuser, or just in the bottom of a pot... 3 or 4 flowers to the cup...pour rapidly boiling water over...allow to steep for 5 minutes...and voila...if Mom likes it sweet...add a little honey... Chamomile tea is calming ...does Mom have stressful days? ...perhaps this will help her unwind...you are a very thoughtful son.
