Fly Agaric: Amanita Mushroom

Beautiful and poisonous, these mushrooms grow in profusion throughout August. I like the deep red ones best, but this sufficed, sitting on the forest floor with perfect light. :-)

What Fly Agaric Street?! Love these too. I used to preserve mushrooms and toadstools. Dry them and then varnish, keep for years! But didn't know what to do with them after apart from gathering dust so don't do it any more. Prefer to look and take photos of them!

Amanita Rd. :-) And yes, a famous mushroom....lol. I'll have to collect and varnish one now for May, wont be blooming then.....lol.

Varnishing mushrooms is a right pain! Wish I hadn't got fed up with mine and left them in the garden to rot, otherwise I could have shown you a photo!!
I do wish though that more giant puffballs grew here, they are just so tasty.
