Mexican Blue palm blooming in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. in the dry garden. Photo taken August 31, 2010.

I'm guessing around 40 years old. There's many around that are 3 and 5 times the height of this palm...you can only imagine their age. Their ultimate height is more than 60 feet/ 20 meters tall....those would be hundreds of years old.

Brahea armata is one of the showiest flowering palms in the world. It's another reason why it so commonly planted here. : > ) Their inflorescences can grow to more than 15 feet/ 4.6 meters long.
