Are they relatively simple to grow for new gardeners?... I would love to have this in my garden

Lishy, this is the first time I have had a Gentian-as you can see it is in a pot so I could put it in lime-free compost which it needs. Apparently this is one of the easiest varieties to grow, that must be why I have managed to get it through this last winter unscathed! As it is an alpine, it also needs a free-draining compost, so added grit unless you buy a compost specifically for alpines.

Thanks Janeplant, it was lovely, but I don't have it anymore! Despite it being 'easy', it didn't survive the winter of 2011. I must get another!
