Thanks Cinders, thanks Lishy, they certainly tasted lovely and fresh and so lovely and crisp !!!! I'm still getting them off but not so many now.

If you have some small ones now, which won't grow to full size with the shortening and coller days, you can pick them small and pickle them (gherkins) for Xmas.
