Dictyosperma album - Princess or Hurricane Palm

This is one of several Princess palms growing at the San Diego Zoo. It's a very tropical palm which grows well here...however, thrives in the deep tropics. The princess palm is native to the Mascarene Islands in the Indian Ocean. Photo taken on Sept. 9, 2010.
