Eden Project

The most disappointing thing about the Eden Project was the difficulty in identifying the plants that I'm unfamiliar with - this is one of them. This was in the rainforest sphere.

Meanie:

Pretty sure this is Thunbergia erecta - King's Mantle. It's another one of the hundreds of species of Thunbergia which grows in California.

I kinda had it down as a Thunbergia, but was not too sure.

Meanie:

Some species are very similar. Thunbergia erecta and Thunbergia battiscombei look almost identical. However, T. erecta tends to have woodier stems and T. battiscombei is more herbaceous.

I'll try to remember that!!
Going to the Botanic gardens at some point this week, so I'll try to see if there are any different ones in bloom there.

Meanie:

Sounds good.

I'm posting a pic of Thunbegia battiscombei tonight.
