LOL... aren't they though? These are the six babies which have turned orange...there are more which will probably be mostly white (I find the white fry stay black longer than the orange)
I think I have a better pic where you can see the black ones...

Looking good lori ! I lost all of my fish to a hungry racoon. Now my pond only has a hand full of 1 inch long babies. I couldn't afford to replace with large koi.

I'm glad I'm retired, Sanbaz... it's your turn now..but someday you'll be able to enjoy your garden and some grandchildren!
Thanks Flcrazy! Maybe you could put the little guys in a small aquarium for a while...I know it's hard on my big guys to be in a small space for so long, but it beats worrying about their survival...I have my little guys in one aq and the large ones in their own 25 gal. aq... I need a much larger one but we're moving to smaller quarters..things might be crowded!
I bought six little "feeder" fish away back when, and the "big" three are the survivors of my disaster...I find the carp to be just as beautiful as the koi and much hardier. they are not demanding about water quality and actually consume algae...they really are survivor fish. Just the type I need. I've been lucky with predators...my neice had herons...so she bought a plastic alligator! did the job!
We've only had rabbits in the backyard here in town..(oh yeah, and a skunk!) there are raccoons around but they never want to take on our fence. They prefer to live in the woods across the street.
