Patches cat-watching in 2005. We lost her age 17 1/2 in Dec 2006. That was a bad Christmas.

She was a bit special in that she was a real member of the family. She was feisty, typical teenager type, would sulk, do her own thing. She wasnt a cuddler or a kisser, she was a nudger and a "talker". Her body language was amazing..dogs normally read ours...we learned to read hers. She made sure we did!
She loved a good fight but only with me..she treated me like an Alpha female, but always on the watch in case I slipped up. She was the daughter I never had, we were great mates and I loved her to bits. But like any child she took it as her due! She ruled my husband with a rod of iron lol! Thanks for visiting her Terratoonie. She would consider it only natural of course...

Sounds like you might get on well with Molly the nutter Jack Russell Terrier. She likes to be the boss too and boy, does she hate cats!! I could put her on the train Tetrarch....;)

People have different 'approaches' to their pets don't they. Molly is not the 'right' breed of dog for me. I must admit I would part with her without too much trouble, but it will never happen as the rest of the family are very sentimentally attached to her. I don't have that with animals - probably because of having to lose my alsatian Katy when my parents split up, and having to have a previous alsatian put down because she bit my friend when she thought he was attacking me (we were about four or five and playing at chase). I think since then I have kind of 'cut myself off' from loving animals in that way. Sad, but I don't think it will really change now. I won't have another dog after Molly. I would love to have a cat, but the rest of the family are all allergic in a big way!

My ma was not into animals much, had dogs because of us,,didnt like cats but, typical of felines, they made a bee-line for her! Must admit every time we see a dog we like, we get tempted..then think of the heartache..but maybe when we dont travel much anymore..must admit if I was faced with Yorkshire's Spike it would be hard to say no...
