Yes we do rather Daisy. We pick a couple of places to go, stately homes with good gardens, or gardens only and stay overnight at a Travelodge. We book well in advance to get a cheaper room, pack flasks and sandwiches and take a chance on the weather. The first time we got rained on this year was at Hartland Point in September, but the following two days were not too bad. Quite happy to have a cloudy day as we cant stand too much heat these days when walking.
When our lovely pooch died, we decided to travel while our legs were up to it. Since 2007 we have visited eight countries and France 3 times, Would like to go to Czech/Austria and Italy (again) next year if all well. In between of course, we motor around England doing our one night stands!

what a great shot. I agree about the gorillas. They are playing hide n seek and these are all the nine waiting and counting 1...2...3...4... coming ready or not - gallumph, gallumph, gallumph....
Let's hope gorilla nr 10 found a big enough hidey hole.
an active imagination's a great thing isn't it?
