Another Geranium on my wish list.

Another Geranium on my wish list. (Geranium lambertii)

This is Geranium lambertii. What a stunner it is! I took this photo at Armadale castle, whilst on holiday on Skye this year. The flowers are really big.

I was about 2 weeks too early to 'acquire' some seed, though I did really try hard to find some!

Lovely geranium, never seen one with this colouring.
I would Tetrarch, lol, I took some seed from a plant in a park when we were in London last year, the gardeners were cutting everything back and asked if I could have some, have got 3 good size plants, don't have a clue what it is though, hopefully flower next year, just looked interesting:-)

I always remember a little saying someone told me years ago..
You dont ask, you dont get
No one to ask? Someone to get!!

I do NOT advocate stealing..however, these days there are so few parks gardeners, someone has to tidy up!

Oh dear..sounds like double standards..but I promise you I never pick the daffodils and never dig anything up...

I wouldve thought the castle would have a plants section GD? This is such a lovely geranium and they are usually not difficult to propagate.

No I wouldn't dig anything up either Tetrarch, unlike the little beeps who picked every daffodil out of our little wood a couple of years ago, around mothers day, how much does a bunch of daffs cost!!!!!, or the ones who stole a whole laurel hedge!!!!! can't get in now though thanks to a very spiky rambling rose, lol, but as you say a few seeds are doing no harm are they, only going on the compost, can't wait to see what they are:-)

would you believe a couple around here landscaped their front garden which was a total mess when they moved in. Made a lovely job. Someone came in and stole the whole lot overnight, plants from the garden as well as pots..sheesh! some people have a nerve, wonder if they would object to us planting them 6ft under!

There was a shop selling a small amount of plants but nothing really that was eye-catching like the geranium: they were all run of the mill plants.

My mum grows Yuccas in the back and front garden, and one morning she woke up to find most of them stolen.
She rang me at work but I was already on my way to her house with most of them. I had found a trail of soil and every now and again a yucca in the local park where I was working (round the corner form my mums house!). I followed it back and sure enough they were my mums. She lost 3 altogether, but the other my dad re-planted but this time he fixed them into the ground with awooden frame. They are huge now and would need a digger to move them! The worst thing about it is that she lives on one of the busiest main roads into Hull and no one saw a thing......

Cant even call them rotten worms or toads, Id be insulting nature!! And anything else would be rude!

My hedging was stolen from the side of a busy road too GD, think most people just turn a blind eye, a whole garden Tetrarch crikey !!! noticed the people from the hotel opposite us had wound barbed wire round their young conifers, as sick of them being pulled up, what a good idea:-)

Thats a shame GD, praps they had all sold out. But cant find this online anywhere. Such a beauty. A real colour break here, apart from Buxtons.

21 Oct, 2010

It is possible to buy it. Try the RHS plantfinder online to see the nurseries where it is listed.
