The perennial flax is a delicate-looking little plant up to two feet tall. Needs sun and a well-drained (but not poor) soil. Self-sown seedlings may appear but a wet winter does for it. Needs some support (link stakes look too clumsy) so I'm trying to grow it among other plants. The leaves are small and wiry; the strappy leaves in the photo belong to agapanthus

I've just planted a white version which is also quite a bit shorter than the more usual blue-I'm looking forward to seeing it in flower. Growing yours amongst the Agapanthus leaves is a really good idea.
