I think the 39p packet of Cosmos seeds I bought from Wilkinson's earlier this year was the best buy I've ever made. I've grown at least 100 different cosmos plants from the one packet and they are a wide range of pinks, reds and whites. Beautiful!

Wow....that is impressive, AM. Are they challenging to grow from seed? As you know I have no greenhouse....so have to sow directly into the soil or start things off in the house. I love Cosmos and 39p for a packet of seeds....well that just seems such a fantastic bargain!

They're one of the easiest things to grow from seed I know. I start them off indoors on a windowsill in about april, pot them on into 7cm pots about 2 weeks after they've germinated and take them outside on mild days and put them in the garage ovenight if it's going to be cold until they're hardened off..
I have customers who just let them self seed outdoors so I guess you could just sow directly into ther soil.

Thanks, AM...as always you've given me easy instructions and something I can do in the spring.

No Cosmos is an annual in the UK. It does self seed freely though and is very easy to grow from seeds... see my post above
