Drc, I think I remember a question on here recently where somebody was asking for help on cutting the grass next to very steep steps... I'm sure it was sparklysocks. I think the picture was taken from this angle purely to show just what they were referring to :o)
P.S. Welcome to GoY sparklysocks, hope you enjoy it here and are ready to be bombarded with even more great ideas from the lovely people here :o)

Hello Sparkly, I have a very steep back garden that might give you some ideas. A bulldozer was used to give 2 usable levels and I have 2 sets of steps :-)))

Hello SS, I find it interesting that you have only taken pics looking down. Can you try taking pics looking up? This might just show a less daunting site? I think there is a lot you can do with this garden and some members have tackled similar so do take time to look at Goypeadia. Consider planting very pretty flowering shrubs across the fence which would help to lessen the drop on the eye and paint the railings black/white or even a bright colour and make them a feature with 4 planters one at each end. You could repeat this look down by the gate to. I suggest a bark path half way down the slope and right across and with low growing shrubs on the lower side. The path you have could be softened considerably by a flower bed such of Lavender on both sides or seeding it with annuals. If your budget is very small consider asking friends and Goy members for seed/plants. Also there is your local 'Freecycle' which offers all sorts for the garden sometimes and you can request things like pots and plants. Best wishes and good luck
