Putting the pond to bed for the winter, Lori....it's a big job but you seem to be doing the job fairly fast. Are you already getting frosty mornings?

No Whistonlass... we are moving. Our agent advised us that most house buyers see a pond as extra work and are intimidated by gardens. We aren't going to argue...we have found a place we'd like and we're ready to move on...
We are finally getting frost...but it's raining like mad now...we've had flooded basements all down our street...thank heavens we've been dry. Had a very warm Sept. with no frost...that's rare...but October hasn't been that cold either. Makes me wonder what winter will be like when it finally gets here...they tell us it will be a very cold one, (that it will be long does not require repeating!)

On the move, Lori....lots of work ahead to pack up...hope it all goes smoothly for you. I'm wondering like you if we are in for a harsh winter...it's turning colder here now but no frost as yet.

My experience of house conveyancing in Canada is that once an offer has been put on a property things move very fast to complete the sale.....over here....it seems to take months and you can have everything all packed up and ready to move on the day and the buyers can pull out of the deal. You take care and move to the place of your dreams, Lori.

It depends on how motivated the buyers/sellers are, I think. Yes we are hoping for a quick closing. Don't want to move all my plants/fish/gecko/dog/birds/rabbit/orchids/houseplants in the middle of winter!!

Don't envy you moving house Lori, but you are right - better to do it before the snow & bitter cold arrive! Are you staying in the same area?

We're hoping to move farther west, Grammazoo. Above highway 7, west of Ottawa. The Renfrew area.

Not too far away from where you are, then - you will be closer to Algonquin Park for vacation time, lol! Hope it all closes smoothly for you!!
