Calodendron capense - Cape Chestnut

This is a spectacular flowering tree which can bloom almost anytime of the year...however, it's typical bloom is in summer through fall. Photo taken July 2, 2010 in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.

Thanks! The only problem with this photo is the flowers look white when they're patel pink to lilac colored.

The grasses underneath look fabulous too ... and would make a great pair with the pinky flowers of the tree.
