Many species/varieties of Anthurium are grown outside in San Diego, CA. but they must be grown under lath or trees to protect them from our intense sun. Photo taken in the Botanical Building, Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on Sept. 29, 2010.

GT:
Thanks! They are very easy plants to grow in semi-shade.

I'll check out your Anthurium pics.
I have several Anthurium varieties in my shade structure in the front yard. I also have a huge bird-nest Anthurium which is blooming now...it's as tall as me.

Dottydausy2:
You check can it out in my photos under: Anthurium 'Lazarz'. Although some of the "bird-nest" Anthuriums have interesting flowers, they're primarily grown for their very large leaves.
