Better to plant hostas in shady places, Alex, especially in your country. I had to move nearly all my hostas in the shade, because they didn't like the fierce mid-day sun. Poor hostas, their leaves got sunburnt and looked extremely sad. They are happy now.

Ah, good to know. Thanks. My fucshia's need part shade here otherwise they fry.

My fuchsia is (kind of) in half shade but she's a very slow grower. I bought it last summer and it's still very tiny - less than 20cm tall (or maybe less). I know it's dwarf and not supposed to get gigantic, but...! Well, she's small but pretty so I forgive her :D
