Thanks Louis - I love these flowers too - and they thrive on neglect. Finest kind!

Happy New Year Beattie & everyone else on GOY. This is an easy plant to keep, and it's such a beauty. I am going to lift the bulbs from the pots this year, and plant them on one of my borders, as the bulbs have grown so big..... :-)

Hi Louis! Happy New Year to you too. I find nerines seem to like being crowded, so when you plant them in the border don't split them up too much and keep them shallow.
Apologies if I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs!

We've had an unusually cold winter so far and I was hoping my nerines hadn't perished with the cold. Keeping my fingers crossed, as usual.

Thank you very much for your advice Bettie, I will do just that. I didn't know, that they had to be planted shallow..... Shall I plant the bulbs just below the surface, or showing a bit on top? I guess, I shall have to include some fine gravel for drainage as well? Thanks once again Beattie :-)

Our soil is desperately stony so I NEVER worry about drainage. I think it would help if you have some gravel. Plant them with at least their noses out, maybe even shoulders... :-) and in sun.
