This young Hawaiian tree fern was in the Hawaiian plant section of the San Diego Zoo. Photo taken Oct. 27, 2010.

It looks very similar to Dicksonia antarctica...however, it's more tropical in origin and therefore, not as hardy. It can grow to 40 ft./ 12meters. Dicksonia antarctica can grow to more than 65 ft. / 20 meters tall.
