Tugbrethil:
This plant appears to love heat. My back wall faces south...and even on cool winter's day may feel like 75F. or warmer (because of the reflected heat)

It burns here, but I suspect that that's because the sunlight here is about 20% more intense here than near the coast. It doesn't help that all the ones brought in here were raised in greenhouses, which takes away their ultraviolet tolerance.

I wonder how it would do over here in my garden room.....

Tugbrethil:
The sun is very intense against this south-facing wall... I've had Plumeria plants burn to death. The solar radiation is extreme especially this time of year when we have the hot, dry Santa Ana conditions...like we're having now.

Meanie:
I would guess it should do very well in a garden room. It would like as much sun as possible in winter though. :>)

It actually did get up to over 100F./ 38C. for many areas of Southern California all last week. It was horribly HOT!
This week the temps are more typical from 70F/22C - 77F/ 25C. during the day. Thank God!!!

Meanie:There is a Allamanda at Kew.but kept under control! I have seen the one at Eden and it's vast, although on our last visit ( last month) it had been trimmed a little.
