I'll have to try putting mine outside next summer, the only thing is we get quite a few chilly winds across the garden. I like your remark about not having to dust them. I usually do mine with a household paintbrush which I keep especially for the cacti, but they would probably benefit from a good shower of rain water.

Mine stays out from end March until September - it doesn't seem to harm it even with the weather we get - so have a go Lin. saves on the dusting.

Thanks for the info Barbara, I will definately have a go at that for next summer. Have you got any of the Easter Cacti I think I prefer them to the Christmas ones.

No Lin only this one that cannot make its mind up when it should be in flower lol. we are only a very small cottage so not a lot of room for houseplants. Will have a look at the easter flowering ones next year because I have a windowsill that would maybe suit them.

I have a salmon pink one, it flowers at really strange times, like now and again in Springtime. Supposedly christmas cacti, I put mine out all summer, it seems to like being outside during the warmer weather. Big bonus is it gets washed when it rains. lol. saves me dusting it. lol.
