That's an interesting avocado! Here in San Diego County, we're the capital avocado growing area in the U.S. Although, some of the largest and oldest avocado trees I've ever seen growing were in the San Francisco Bay and the central coast.

I thought that it was unusual looking, that's why I snapped a shot to share w you guys. The avocado trees seems to do well in this area. As far as I know they are not commercial grown here though. We do occassionally get frosty here and that can destroy the crop...so I guess it's kind of a gambling crop for this area.

Along the central coast of CA. I know frost are not too common...however, I do know the Avocado trees and fruit will tolerate a little frost. They definitely don't like prolonged freezing temps though.
