Castor bean tree grows wild in many wild area in Southern California. It can grow quite large and live for up to 15 years. Photo taken Nov. 11, 2010.

They grow wild everywhere. I see them growing out of the asphalt on the side of the road or freeways. It's a tough tree! :>)

We grow this in the jungle, as an annual, for it's spectacular red leaves, hard to imagine it growing in to a tree.

It's grown as part of the summer bedding in parks and gardens: I like the the plant,very poisonous though..

Yes, the seeds are very poisonous.
Oleander is a very poisonous shrub/tree and is grown here by the many millions. Most people know not to touch the leaves or burn the wood.
