Having been outdoors all summer, this is absolutely rampant now that it's back in the warmth of the house! Having been in bloom continuously since April (I think), it now has six viable flowering stems!

Fantastic number of buds and stems Meanie, do you always put them outdoors for the summer ? I have never done that, but if that is the result then I shall do that next year.

Well, to be more precise, two stems that have branched out into six spikes (plus another one just starting)!
Cinderella - it was an experiment. A couple thrived, two have started new stems off since coming in, and one got destroyed by a bird probably. The Paphiopedilum that went out bloomed all summer too.

Thanks Meanie

Cinderella - I should have added that they were under the pergola too. It's important to shade them from the worst of the afternoon sun and to stop rainwater filling the crowns (this will kill them for sure).
If they're precious to you, keep them indoors. I'll try a few more outside next summer though!

Ok thanks. I have one or two that are getting a bit old and not doing much now, so it might do them good to put them out for a while. I can shade them, as you suggest.

Yes, they do love to be outdoors in the semi-shade.
