That's terrible! I thought it was really hardy...however, not sure how snow hardy it is though (if you receive snow).

We have about 4-5ft of snow at the moment and have not been out for days, no planes, no trains and no fun lol.

WOW!!! That's a tremendous amount of snow. It must be terrible not to be able to leave your house.
You're snowy weather has been on the news here almost everyday for about a week. I can't believe the UK is getting such a harsh winter again...especially after last year's horrible winter. :>(

That's what I keep hearing.
We've had some very unusually cold weather here too...however, it's considered very mild by comparison.

I wonder just how old this Arbutus is? I hope we do not lose ours, will be very upset if that happens.

I'll send good thoughts for your tree to make it through all the cold weather.
I guess this tree would be more than 30 years old. A. unedo grows quickly, however, for it to grow this large would take decades.

You're welcome. Does your tree look better since the snow has gone?

Wow that's thick, I have no luck growing these and I tried twice but each time they did not survive the winter.
