Fishtail palms are common and some of the fasted growing palms in the world. It can grow to 30ft/10m in less than 5 years. Photo taken Dec. 1, 2010.

Several species grow here: Caryota mitis, gigas, rumphiana, ochlandra and cummingii. There's a few other species grown by palm society member collectors.

We have these growing in the Palm House at Kew,but they can never achieve their full size. It is great to see them growing outdoors.
