Heliotrope grows everywhere in San Diego. It's such a popular shrub because of the very sweetly fragrance of the flowers. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on Dec. 1, 2010. (the trunks in the background are Traveler's Palms (Ravenala madagascariensis)

It's a long-lived shrub, growing to 6ft/2m tall.
