Pulsatilla alpina apiifolia

Did this take some time to germinate and grow mature enough to plant out? You say you grew it from seed so just wondered about its growth pattern. Very attractive.

I have just been outside to look at the label, but unfortunately it is not the original one :-(. Typically, the seed will take at least one year to germinate and then I would have grown it on for a further couple of years before planting out. Pulsatilla have heavy tap roots and don't like being disturbed so I tend to plant out before they reach flowering size.

I don't think I've seen a yellow pulsatilla before...it is very lovely. Hope it flowers for you again this year :)

It flowers regularly now, Karen, and is bulking up more. A few years ago we collected seed of the pure white Pulsatilla alpina whilst in Austria. I am hopeful that will flower this year.

It's great when you have special events like that to look forward to!
