First your son was caught watering the plot, now perhaps he's doing a bit of midnight guerilla gardening, on his way in from a late gig ?

These poppies will self seed very easily... the seeds stay in the soil and are viable for years... when you cultivate and bring the seed to the surface it will germinate... Beautiful flowers...ephemeral...

....so will it come up again this year and in the same place? I had a fantastic euphorbia emerge last summer in similar circumstances.

If you don't collect the seed it will self seed and will come up in a silvery green mat... I would suggest catching the seed. That way you can put them where ever you like.

Hey Crystaltips, when you said that you had a 'fantastic euphorbia emerge last summer' I thought you meant you were at the Glastonbury Festival !
With your friend Amy Winehouse no doubt !
