waxy spaths and seed forming spadix. are what is commonly referred to as a flower . its really a modified leaf.
These when picked for the vase last 6 to 8 weeks . I leave mine on the plant and hope they get fertilised therefore giving me more plants

I always potted mine in a good quality potting mix until I was advised by an Anthurium seller in the tropical north not far from where I live to pot it a medium orchid mix with some gritty river sand added. this I have done with the 4 new ones.

Yes, Anthuriums grow as epiphytes in nature. They do best with soil-less mediums. They're commonly planted in peat moss or sphagnum moss with bark, rock or sand.

I have this one also...it's in full-bloom now also. Anthuriums seem to bloom very well here in winter.
Even with all the severe flooding rains here in California all my Anthuriums are blooming really well now. My plants aren't used to receiving so much good rain water.
