Clematis 'Proteus'

This clematis was planted late in 2006 to climb into an established spring-flowering magnolia. On heavy clay and with severe root competition, it has taken a little while to get established but has now started to put on growth. This is the first flower (late May 2008). It should reach ten feet or more, carry double flowers now and single ones later in the season. It also prefers being out of sull sun
