This Goldenrain tree in Balboa Park refuses to go deciduous. Maybe it's all the rain we've had, or possible now, all the hot weather? Who knows! I think it's confused. lol! :>)

Sixpence:
This tree is native to Taiwan...typically, it has a short deciduous period...usually only about 2 months. Typically, it's deciduous from late December to the middle of February. Maybe it'll stay evergreen this winter.

Well at least you will know you ll have nice weather by it, I wonder what the history to this tree is for it to be called the Goldenrain tree, does it stem from the native American Indian

It's called Flame tree also. Not sure where the Goldenrain tree name came from though. This tree here and in many warm-temperate to tropical climates are weed trees popping up everywhere (it's very invasive).

Yes the changing of the weather does confuse the plants, ours over here our spring bulbs and other plants are comming up already, but you have to be careful and the old saying goes here, if spring bulbs pop up in January the frosts will get them, also if you see grass in January lock your food in the granary.
