After heronisation - spoilt the overall idea of being able to sit beside the pond

Well protected, though, it really is a fortress! I'd love to have a turtle pond but would have to do the same thing because of the raccoons and coyotes and bobcats.

I used to have a flat cover made from timber but the heron still managed to get its beak through. Nasty things ... OH kept a water gun by the back door to shoo it away...

The water gun was a remote control one that worked off of a beam across the pond. If the beam broke the gun went off for around 15 seconds with a spray of water covering a wide arc...... the amount of times we forgot it was on ....!!!!!!!

Oh I would love one of those not for any kind of animal for certain humans hahaha.

What a shame you have had to fence it it looks lovely what about metal grids over the pond.
