unidentified orchid

ID please! Our son took a slip from an orchid plant he had. It has never bloomed for him, but after 2 years it has for us, with 2 very tall bloom stalks. See next photo for a close-up of the blooms.

quite different from most, but then again I don't know much about Orchids. Looks lovely, thought it was a photo of a lampshade at first! sorry!!

It took a while for it to get started, Alexandramc. Didn't really show any growth for over a year, and then it suddenly decided to add those lovely leaves. the surprise was the flower stalks They are about 30 cm long! The blooms are tiny, but perfect.

Yes Elke the blooms are tiny and beautiful. I can't wait until mine takes off. It's happy where it is, I only have it a few months. I can't wait for more leaves to appear.

I cut the flowering stem in the wrong place I think because the stem has died, the rest of it is ok though!
