I would highly recommend Rudbeckia laciniata "Golden Glow"
It grows to about 7 -8 feet tall and flowers from July to late November. It is an evergreen herbaceous perennial. Just chop down the flowering shoots in autumn or spring and it will do its thing next year. It requires no dead heading... My kind of plant :^)

It takes up surprisingly little room horizontally. It must be 5 years old now and is still only about 15 inches across at the base.

It would be perfect at the back of one of my borders, I`m going to look out for one.

A real stunner Aman! Gone onto my faves so I will remember it. I like the fact that it keeps to it's own piece of the garden....I have a golden Helenium which is a real thug, no matter how I dig it out or up root it, there it is again....choking everything else, even now it is sending it's roots out like feelers through the borders.....:o((

Hmmm I was thinking of planting a Helenium...perhaps better with this, but it probably wouldn't survive over winter.

I know yo're in the frozen north Karen but we've had -10c here and it hasn't bothered it a bit.
Mind you ...I guess -10c is T shirt weather for the hardy Angusians!

this might be nice planted against the side fence, where I have a bit of sun. I love the idea of flowers in November.

Glad it's arrived safely. I'd be surprised if it flowers this year but hopefully next year you'll have a decent display

Wow! My kind of plant too Anchorman. If only I had room for it. A good one for my mum (oliveoil) though. Hope she sees it!
