I found this basket at a yard sale on Sunday. It's made out of twigs, green silk leaves and tiny white beads. Someone put a lot of work into it.

Irish, I thought of you as I uploaded this photo. The picture on the wall behind the basket is a picture of a scene in Ireland. It's a reverse glass painting that belonged to my neighbor ( 94 ) who passed away last year. The family asked if I wanted anything when they were emptying the house and so I was very happy to have it. With a bit of water damage and paint chipping, it's still very nice.

I've been thinking about that Janette. I will most likely stick one of my houseplants in it. There is a pine tree next door and there are fresh tiny pineconeson the ground. I also thought about filling the basket with them.

what a nice story behind that painting. that was very nice of the family to offer you a memento of your neighbour. so many things you could put in that basket, pine cones sound good

Wow.. What a find ! It is lovely, I've never seen anything like it. I think I would leave it as it is. I wouldn't want to cover up any of that detailed work I see on the inside.
