I used to have a beauty like yours Lins....It grew up and over the fence, next door had a lovely display from it.....My neighbour died and the new owners wanted it cut back, which i did, but it never really recovered, so i dug it out...:<(

Oh thats a shame Mot, they take quite a time to grow to this size, I keep wondering whether to chop mine back and let it start again, but I dont want to lose it. I have only lightly trimmed it previously. How's that gorgeous grandson of yours, he sure is a cracker Mot.
