Champagne Palm is a beautiful tropical palm native to Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean...which is just east of northern Madagascar. Photo taken Feb. 11, 2011 at the San Diego Zoo.

This area has several species of palms, Heliconia, Acalypha, Alpinia and ferns. It does look like a rainforest.
