Perhaps you were being too kind to them Paul, and gave them too much water. They only need a small amount of water and hardly any at all between October and March. Perhaps that's what you did wrong Paul.

Glad you like it Homebird, actually its a little darker red that what it looks in this photo.

I think so yes - they ended up with spots over it like mould ): We had one like this on our windowsil - they are beautiful -
